Mystical Bhutan Tour 6N/7D.

Day01. Arrival at Paro from Delhi, Bangkok Kolkata or Kathmandu.

The Druk air flight into Paro is an exciting one as you land into the Paro airport. There are great views of mostly all great Himalayan peaks including Everest. Upon arrival our representative will be there at the airport to receive. Depending on your flight timing start Paro sightseeing or be at leisure. You can visit the National Museum and the Paro Dzong/Fortress or just start looking around the Paro town.

Day02. Paro sightseeing.

We will start the day with the famous hike to the Taktsang Monastery. A visit to Bhutan is not complete without a hike to the Taktsang Monastery. This monastery is built on granite rocks and clings magically on this cliff. It is said that Guru Rimpoche the founder of Tibetain form of Buddhism is said to have done his meditation in a cave where the very monastery was built. The hike takes about 2 hrs from the road head, and the climb is about 600m above the valley floor. Mules and ponies are arranged for guests who might not want to walk all the way. Later visit the Kichu monastery and the ruined Drugyal Dzong. Kichu Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built during the 8th century by the Tibetain King Songsten Genpo.

Day03. Drive to Thimphu, Thimphu SS. 2hrs

Drive to Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan. This is a beautiful drive through the villages and rice fields of Paro, beautiful and colorful farmhouse complement the drive as you cruise parallel to the Paro River amidst willow trees. On reaching Thimphu check into your Hotel and be at ease to explore the Thimphu city with its many curio stores. Visit the National memorial Chorten/Stupa, Memorial of the late His Majesty the 3rd King of Bhutan.

Day04. Thimphu SS and transfer to Punakha.

Visit Sangaygang or the BBS watchtower the highest point in Thimphu to get great views of the whole valley. Can see the Takin, the national animal of Bhutan, visit Zilukha nunnery, the painting school and the folk heritage museum. There is also the Institute of 13 Arts and Crafts, you can see students at work.

After lunch leave for Punakha, You will be driving across Dochula pass at 3000m, there are great views of the eastern Himalayas weather permitting. The drive to Punakha is 3hrs from Thimphu. Can stroll around the Druk Wangyal Chortens, there are 108 beautiful stupas built for the protection of the country. Before reaching Punakha visit Chimey Lhakhang monastery, this is the Temple of the Devine man who is a greatly loved saint of Bhutan of the 14th century. Walk 15 minutes to this temple through a village. The monastery is built strategically on a hilltop.

Day06. Punakha to Thimphu.

Visit the Punakha Dzong, which is one of the most beautiful dzongs in the country located between the two rivers, male and female. Punakha was also the former capital of Bhutan and still serves as a winter capital by the monk body. Drive to Wangduphodrang town, visit the Dzong and the market. After lunch drive back to Paro.

Day07. Depart for Delhi, Bangkok or Kolkata.

Options.

While at Paro, guests have the option to stay at some luxury and Heritage hotel like the Zhiwaling Hotel or Uma Hotel. For this an additional surcharge is applicable based on room type and season.
