Tour 5 - Tibet Lhasa EBCThis tour leads us into Centraltibet, we visit the once forbidden city Lhasa, Shigatse, Gyantse, Sakya and as the highlight finally the Mt. Everest base camp on approximately 5,200 meters height.

Day - Arrival in Kathmandu/Nepal. 5 minutes transfer to the fantastically beautiful hotel Dwarika *****, relaxing, cosy dinner, soon to bed. 2. Day - After a tasty breakfast we drive over the Ringroad to Swayambunath for a short stay and afterwards to Nagarkot for an additional acclimatisation on 2.500m over the sea level. Overnight accomodation in the hotel Fort. Approx. 50km or 3 hours to drive. 3. Day - We enjoy one day restin' in Nagarkot and make a small migration. In case of good weather we will be able to see some of the highest mountains of the world. Our crew takes care of the Tibetvisa during we are acclimatizing. 4. Day - Departure to the Nepalese border place Kodari, entry formalities for the journey to Tibet, afterwards drive on to Nyalam, on 3.700m over the sea level. From today on the luxury of a hotel is over for the present. Overnight accomodation in a Lodge. Approx. 150km or 4 hours to drive. 5. Day - Today we acclimatize in Nyalam, aafter short migration we are able to have a great view to the Himalaya mountains. The Sisha Pangma - 8.014m of height and the only mountain in Tibet with its peak in 8000m over the sea level - is greeting from the distance. In the evening in the Lodge. 6. Day - Today we reach the first passes in 5.000m over the sea level on the way to Shegar, for the next 10 days we wont travel below a height of 4500m over the sea level. Overnight accomodation in Shegar in a Lodge. Approx. 250 Km or 8 hours to drive. 7. Day - We will drive further to Sakya and visit the largest still remaining Tibetan meeting hall there. The rulers of Tibet were here in Sakya approximately 800 years ago, long before the first Dalai Lama. Overnight accomodation in the hotel Sakya. Approx. 200 km or 6 hours to drive. 8. Day - Gyantse is our next destination in the centre of Tibet, here we will visit the beautiful "stairs-stupa", which has been built long time ago from a Nepalese architect, and the last still remaining Tibetan monastery. Overnight accomodation in a local hotel. Approx. 250 km or 6 hours to drive. 9. Day - Today we will drive over the Yamdroksee and over 2 high passes (Karo La and Kamba La) to reach the once forbidden city Lhasa, the former seat of the government of the Dalai Lamas. We will stay here in a beautiful city hotel for the next 2 days. Approx. 300Km or 8 hours to drive. 10. Day - Today we will visit the Potala, the former winter palace of the Dalai Lama, 13 floors high with more than 1,000 premises. The red-brown parts of the building were reserved for the Klersu, the white ones were for the worldly government departments. 11. day - We will leave to Shigatse, to the former seat of the Pant Lama and visit the monastery district Tashi Lumpo. Overnight accomodation in the only hotel in Shigatse. Approx. 250 Km or 6 hours to drive. 12. Day - We will drive back to Shegar on the way to the Everest Basecamp, here we gonna stay overnight for a second time. Approx. 250Km or 6 hours to drive. 13. Day - Today we will finally pass the last meters of height over a fascinating panorama route to the Everest Basecamp (EBC). If the Gods are well-disposed towards our journey, we will be able to see and admire the Northface of the highest mountain in the evening sun. Overnight accomodation in a simple guesthouse. Approx. 150 Km or 5 hours to drive. 14. Day - Today our descent will beginn over old and rarely used roads, no problem with our KTM motorcycles. We will drive to Nyalam and stay here the last time on Tibetan soil. Approx. 250 km or 7 hours to drive. 15. Day - After our border crossing in Zangmu and Kodari we will drive back to Kathmandu, where we then will stay at the unbelievable luxury hotel Dwarika. Approx. 150 km or 6 hours to drive. 16. Day - Relaxing in the hotel Dwarika, last purchases can be made before the last trip home. With lots of great impressions we will leave Asia and certainly remember the journey for a long time.
