Tour 4 - Motorcycle expedition to TibetOur motorcycles dream journey to the highland of Tibet leads us to the holy mountain Kailash, to the holy lake Manasarova, to the cloister Sakya and to the Mt. Everest base camp on 5.200m.

Tour A: 2.- 28. 6. 2006 1st day - Arrival in Kathmandu/Nepal. 5 minutes transfer into the dreamlike beautiful hotel Dwarika*****, relax, cozy supper, soon into the bed. 2nd day - after a good breakfast, we drive on the ringroad for a short visit to Swayambunath and subsequently further to Nagarkot for our akklimatisation on 2.500m. Overnight stay in the hotel Fort. Ca. 50km or 3 hours to drive. 3rd day - we enjoy a relaxing day in Nagarkot, makea little migration, with some weather-fortune we can see some of the highest mountains of the world. During we acclimatize our crew gets our visas for Tibet. 4th day - departure to Kodari to the nepalese boundary place, entry formalities for Tibet, subsequently expanse trip until Nyalam, on 3,700 m lain. From today on the luxure of a hotel is only past. Overnight stay in a lodge. Ca. 150km or 4 hours to drive. 5th day - today we acclimatize in Nyalam, a short migration presents us with an awesome view of the Himalaya. The Sisha Pangma, 8.014m high the only mountain in Tibet which is 8000 m high greets from the distance. Evenings in the lodge. 6th day - today we subdue the first 5.000m passes at the way to Saga, we pass the holy lake Pelkü Tso on ca. 4.500m and won't leave this height the next 14 days. With a ferry, we cross the Tsangpo, overnight stay in Saga in a lodge. Ca. 300 km or 8 hours to drive. 7th day - Parallel to the grandiose Himalaya the road takes us west, past at the highest sand dunes of the world until Paryang where we spend the night in a tibetian guest house. Ca. 300km or 8-10 hours to drive. 8th day - today we reach Darchen, at the foot of the Mt. Kailash and enjoy the look over the holy ice pyramid. What a view! We spend the night in a simple guest house. Ca. 300km or 8-10 hours to drive. 9th day - today the Kora around the Mt. Kailash begins for our pilgrim-bikers or selectively an excursion to the Tarboche, the large flag mast. Today we can participate on the Saga Dawa festival, the holiest festival in Tibet. Evenings in the tent on the Kora or in the guest house in Darchen. 10th day - on the Kora or selectively exploring the nearer environment by bike, we enjoy the unique presence of the holy mountain,- midpoint of our earth for all Hindus and Buddhists. Evenings again in the tent on the Kora or in the guest house. 11th day - today the Kora ends, freed of their sins our pilgrims come back. Together we drive to the holy lake Manasarovar, at the foot of the Gurla Mandata. We enjoy the beautiful scenery, evenings in the guest house. Ca. 50km or 1-2 hours to drive. 12th day - At our tibetian wellness day we rest at the lake, relax in the near hot sources and visit the little cloister. The magic of this lovely area encircles us. Fotoshooting without an ending. Evenings in the tibetian guest house. 13th day - We drive back to Paryang, again we come through many sand passages and only enough speed rescues us of accidents. We meet nomads with their Yaks. Evenings in the guest house. Ca. 300km or 8-10 hours to drive. 14th day - Expanse trip to Saga where it becomes unfortunately already very chinese. We grant ourselves the luxury of a hotel what isn't really equivalent with our European standards. A shower means already luxury! Ca. 300km or 8-10 hours to drive. 15th day - Expanse trip to Centraltibet until Lhatse, the first green greets our eyes. Most of the time wie drive along the Tsangpo, which is the waiter course of the Brahmaputra. Evenings in a cozy tibetian guest house. Ca. 300km or 8 hours to drive. 16th day - Culture excursion to Sakya, which was the power center approximately 800 years ago, long before the 1st Dalai Lama was born. We visit the largest tibetian meeting hall as well as the surrounding little cloisters. Evenings we are back in Lhatse in the quarters of the day before. Ca. 80km or 2 hours to drive. 17th day - Expanse trip to Schigatse, visit of the monastery district Tashi Lunpo, the former seat of the Panchen Lamas. Ca. 180km or 5 hours to drive 18th day - We drive over the north route to Lhasa, into the former forbidden city. Ca. 240km or 8 hours to drive 19th day - Visit of the Potala, the earlier winter palace of the Dalai Lamas. This largest buddhist building of our world comprises 1,000 rooms on 13 floors. Also a visit in Jokhang is planned, this is the oldest monastery in Tibet out of the 7th century. 20th day - The earlier state-monastery Sera and Drepung expects us as well as the Norbulinkha, the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas. 21st day - Expanse trip to Gyantse where we see the uniquely beautiful stepstupa and a tibetian monastery. We go along the Yamdroklake and cross 2 high passes, the Kamba La,- ca. 4,800 ms,- as well as the Karo La,- ca. 5.100m,- Ca. 220km or 7 hours to drive 22nd day - We go until Lhatse where we will spend the night, some high passes we have to overcome at the way there today. Ca. 250km or 6 hours to drive 23th day - Today we reach Rongbuk, the highest situated monastery in Tibet, just behind it the highest mountain of the world. Excursion with little horse-carriages into the base camp. Overnight stay in the guest house of the nunnery. Ca. 200km or 6-8 hours to drive. 24th day - Excursion with little horse-carriages into the base camp and/or into the highest situated post office in Asia on ca. 5.200m. Today we enjoy again the beautiful scenery and confess ourselves a relaxing day. 25th day - Over old rarely traveled streets, we go back until Nyalam, last night in Tibet. With a little farewellparty, we take leave of the grandiose and largest highland of our earth. Ca. 150km or 6 hours to drive. 26th day - Boundary settlement in Zangmu and Kodari, subsequently expanse trip to Kathmandu into our hotel oasis - the Dwarika. There arrived we enjoy the luxury of this ensemble,- what a contrast to Tibet. Load day last. Ca. 120km or 4 hours to drive 27th day - Relaxation pure is announced today in the 5star hotel, the last dust is knocked out of our clothes, last purchase possibilities as well as cultural sight stand for the choice. A stylish farewelldinner expects us tonight in the most beautiful hotel of Nepal. 28th day - Today we leave homewards, we will have a lot of moments in our future to think of this life-journey in the culture room of the Himalaya, perhaps the one or other comes back one day.
